PHILOSOPHYIt is our core belief that good Danish and vintage design doesn't have to be inaccesible
to the average person. Whilst we do stock some high end and important pieces, the great
bulk of what we sell is thoughtfully designed, well made vintage pieces which won't cost
an arm and a leg.
STOCK
We receive a container from Europe every 4-6 weeks. With an ever changing range and
very quick turnover of stock, we are one of Melbourne's and Australia's largest vintage
20th Century specialists. Danish modern makes up the core of our range along with
Australian mid century and Industrial vintage.
We realise the importance of keeping a fresh and up-to-date website. When an item is sold
in shop it is INSTANTLY marked as sold on the website. When an item arrives in shop, it is usually
photographed and loaded onto the website within 24hrs. This ensures that you, as the online
customer, can be confident that what you see online IS available and not out of date.
Taking this a step further, we also take photos during our buying trips overseas. We'll upload these
photos to our UPCOMING webpage so you can get 1st dibs at our new finds.
RESTORATION
In the workshop we restore a wide variety of items using methods and treatment required
to best enhance the pieces we sell. Stripping and refinishing is sometimes done prior to its
sale or given as an option on the purchase of a vintage piece. We also have much experience
using other experts including wood turners, cabinet makers, metal workers and rattan
and Danish cord weavers.
UPHOLSTERY
We are proud to have our own exclusive upholsterer using traditional skills to give new life to
old classics. We offer a wide selection of fabrics from many of the top suppliers including
Warwick, Zepel and Wortley. This service allows us to pass on great savings to our customers
as well as being able to complete work without a long wait.
DELIVERY
One of the most important services we offer is Delivery as many of our pieces are too big for
the average car boot! We offer a flat rate of $50 for any item to be delivered within the Melbourne
suburban area. For interstate and regional services, we have a network of economical and reliable transporters. To Sydney delivery can be be as low as $75 and go up to $225 for several larger items.
